The Major Gifts Officer works alongside the Executive Director to solicit relationships with potential donors and maintain relationships with current donors to achieve long-term engagement and financial support of the work of Feed Louisville. The person in this role will be responsible for helping solicit and schedule engagements with potential donors, oversee relationship stewardship with current donors, make direct asks for financial support of potential and current donors and maintain a database of all communications with potential and current donors

This person must possess the ability to identify and make connections with stakeholders who align with our work, envisioning impactful partnerships for both sides. This role requires a person with excellent written and spoken communication skills, to tell our story in an authentic and inspiring manner.The person in this role will also work alongside our Director of Marketing and Communications to direct the creation of visual materials and campaigns that provide illustration of our work to donors. This role has the potential to grow into a full-time Director of Development position.
Regular tasks of this job include:
Daily communication with potential donors to request meetings to share the story of our work, or to make direct asks for financial support
Attend meetings to talk about our work and the opportunity to support
Maintain a database of donors and potential donors and notes on contact with them
Strategize weekly with the Executive Director to prioritize targets and campaigns.
Manage regular donor communications; newsletters, letters, etc.
Achieve deliverables in a timely and self-driven manner.
Qualifications for this role:
Prior experience as a fundraising professional raising major gifts for a mid to large sized non-profit organization.
Proven success with corporate and individual major gift programs.
An understanding of the overall mission of the organization as well as the issues facing the unhoused and food insecure community.
Experience and proficiency in navigating and maintaining a CRM database.
Experience in other areas of fundraising programming, as this position has the potential to grow into a full-time development director role.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
A bachelor’s or master’s level degree is preferred.

Salary range: $35k to 40k depending on experience
