At the intersection of hunger relief and food waste is where our chefs do their work.
We prepare hundreds of nutritious and hearty meals daily in our licensed kitchen that our outreach partners takes directly into the camps and streets. Our team of chefs are professionals who have cooked in some of the most respected restaurants in Louisville and now use their skills to fight hunger in our community.
Every day in our community, untold amounts of perfectly viable prepared food and raw ingredients get thrown into the landfill. Until now, chefs, caterers and other food companies have not had an easy way to get this food to those who could use it.
Feed Louisville's kitchen fills that gap.
Our chefs are able to divert that food being thrown away and repurpose it into beautiful meals to send out to our houseless and food insecure community. Our Food Rescue Program allows restaurants, caterers and other licensed food producers to donate viable, safely held food that we incorporate into our daily production of hundreds of hot and hearty meals. These meals go directly to the streets each day.
Our Food Rescue Program partners are relieved to see their hard work not go into the landfill, and instead see it used to feed people who need it.

The EPA estimates that at least 35 percent of all food grown or produced in America goes into the landfill untouched.
Last year, Feed Louisville diverted 160,000 pounds from our city's landfills.
