About Feed Louisville:
Feed Louisville is a team of professional chefs on a mission to reduce hunger in our community while reducing food waste. We are a commissary kitchen and redistribution hub for food resources. Our organization is built on the guiding principles of social and racial justice, mutual aid, and health equity. We work in solidarity, not charity, with our unhoused community and others experiencing food insecurity. 

Position Summary:
Feed Louisville is seeking a highly organized and creative Data & Impact Manager to join our growing team. This role is central to how we tell our story, measure our impact, and connect meaningfully with donors and stakeholders. You’ll be responsible for managing and analyzing all data related to our operations and fundraising, creating visual and written content that communicates our work, and maintaining our CRM and website.
This position works closely with the Executive Director and Development Officer to ensure that our data-driven communications reflect the impact of our mission on our community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain all data within our CRM (e.g., Salesforce), including donor records and engagement tracking
  • Develop and send targeted email communications to segmented donor lists, as well as monthly newsletters to our broader community
  • Analyze and interpret data to create custom donor reports and community impact summaries
  • Oversee and ensure data integrity across departmental spreadsheets and reporting systems
  • Design compelling graphics for social media, fundraising campaigns, reports, and events using tools like Canva
  • Create and maintain both digital and printed materials that support donor engagement and fundraising efforts (case for support, one-pagers, impact visuals)
  • Manage and update our website content
  • Track and organize events and campaigns within the CRM system

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Proficient with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or similar systems
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience creating and managing pivot tables
  • Strong graphic design skills with experience using Canva (or similar)
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to interpret data and translate it into meaningful reports and stories
  • Experience managing or updating websites (basic CMS familiarity is a plus)
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
  • Passion for mission-driven work and storytelling through data

Volunteer Coordinator

Location: Louisville, KY (On-site)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Reports to: Executive Director and Executive Chef
Compensation: Starting salary $42,000

Benefits: 4-week PTO accrual, employer pays 50% of health/dental and vision insurance
Start Date: ASAP


Feed Louisville is hiring a Volunteer Coordinator who will serve as a liaison between our community of volunteers and the operational needs of our Culinary and Development teams. The person in this role will ensure that every volunteer has the best experience possible, ensuring their time with us is both engaging and productive.
The person in this role must love working with people, engaging them in conversation, and telling the story of our work. This role requires a person with excellent written and spoken communication skills. The Volunteer Coordinator must be highly organized and capable of maintaining a database of information, as well as juggling a busy inbox of emails daily.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain our volunteer scheduling platform, Mobilize
  • Respond to volunteer inquiries and coordinate group scheduling via the volunteer email inbox
  • Organize and lead on-site volunteer orientations and provide ongoing support to ensure a meaningful and productive experience
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with individual volunteers, faith-based groups, schools, and corporate partners
  • Work closely with the development team to schedule and steward corporate groups, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor engagement
  • Coordinate daily with the culinary team to assess needs and assign volunteers to appropriate kitchen, packing, and delivery tasks
  • Assist with documenting and reporting volunteer hours and impact metrics
  • Maintain updated volunteer records and ensure accurate data entry in our systems
  • Create and send regular volunteer communications, including thank-you messages, reminders, and impact updates
  • Support volunteer recognition efforts and appreciation events
 
Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of volunteer management or nonprofit experience preferred
  • Experience with scheduling platforms or volunteer management software is a must
  • Ability to engage diverse groups and individuals with warmth and professionalism
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Knowledge of food safety and/or kitchen operations a plus, but not required

Lead Chef

Location: Louisville, KY (On-site)
Status: Full-time, Monday-Friday
Starting Pay: $18-$20/hour depending on experience
Benefits: 4-week PTO accrual, employer pays 50% of health/dental and vision insurance

Feed Louisville is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Lead Chef to join our culinary team. This role is essential to our mission of preparing hearty, nutrient-dense meals for people experiencing homelessness and food-insecurity, using rescued and donated food ingredients daily.

About the Role

The Lead Chef works closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to:
  • Design and execute a daily menu based on available ingredients
  • Cook and prep meals with precision and creativity
  • Collaborate with team members and volunteers
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety
  • Strategize ways to reduce waste by preserving, prepping, or freezing ingredients for future use
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety codes at all times
  • Execute professional-level culinary techniques including chopping, slicing, emulsifying, and blanching
  • Use up surplus or at-risk ingredients thoughtfully and creatively
  • Communicate clearly and work effectively as part of a fast-paced team
  • Oversee cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and storage areas
  • Support volunteers and ensure a welcoming, inclusive experience in the kitchen
  • Assist with daily opening and closing duties, including sanitation and food rotation (FIFO system)
 
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Safe Food Handler’s Certification (must remain current)
  • Strong knife skills and mastery of food preparation techniques
  • Experience with commercial kitchen equipment (blenders, mandolins, slicers, etc.)
  • Familiarity with culturally inclusive seasoning and flavor profiles
  • Understanding of dietary restrictions and food allergens
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods
  • Strong attention to detail, multitasking, and team collaboration
  • Commitment to food justice and reducing food waste
